‘Confident’ Bears’ homestand continues, prepare to face Houston
This story was written through narrative writing. It highlights the Cal game against Oregon State by starting the story off with the first pitch from PJ, who was ranked 19th in D1 baseball. This gave up a run and started a score for Cal. Cal dropped the third game of the series but put up double digit runs in its first two games and ended the series with an 8-0 shoutout with no errors in the field. The rest of the article highlights an interview with head coach Mike Neu and some highlighted quotes from him. They also end the article highlighting what is to come for the rest of the season for the team.
Personally, this was a hard read for me. I do not know much about baseball so most of it was language I did not understand. That doesn’t mean that someone else wouldn’t enjoy this type of writing though.
The sports section of The Daily Californian is updated regularly. Highlighting sports such as cross country, baseball, and rugby. This is a good tactic for a school paper because it proves it’s a good and reliable resource for students
