Current Media in Relation to Communications & Media Arts Majors
As someone who is a Communications and Media Arts major with a minor in Business Administration and Writing I decided to pick the article “Communications Grads Face a Tough Future Without Business Skills and Real‐World Hustle” written by CommPRO. The article highlights that Communications graduates who are starting to enter the workforce are being advised by jobs to start to develop and understand simple business concepts. Since I am studying both Communication and Business this article is extremely relevant because the article essentially states communication professionals must know business to get a career. Communications highlight tactics and business highlights the metrics that need to be connected in a successful company. In my future work if I end up creating a campaign with my communications skills I could use my business skills to be able to measure engagement and brand awareness. This article helped me understand that I have to use my communications concepts and strategy to be able to frame myself and my work as someone who can also drive business results.
