The sample capstone proposals propose many strengths that make them effective plans. For example, the philosophy proposal stands out to me because there is a clear purpose. The student proposal demonstrates the students clear understanding of the philosophical debate of “Can God Just Allow Suffering?” and how their work will contribute to the debate. This is also shown in the English proposal. The proposal on animals in Victorian Literature shows an annotated bibliography with relevant sources. I enjoyed understanding how other students will go about revising their project from picking which faculty they will use to identify new sources. Opportunity for development within these proposals is narrowing the focus of their piece. This is because when one doesn’t have a specific focus it could make it harder for the writer to collect specific information about one idea. Looking at these examples helps me reflect on my own revision project. It helps me start to understand the importance of why my revision project matters and how the framework helps to put the revision into play.
