Hot pot on a budget: A crash course on a survival meal eaten over the stove

Highlighting how college students are struggling to pay for meals and do not enjoy all of the food that the dining hall offers. There is a new hot pot place downtown which sells their dishes for $14.99. This isn’t too steep of a price but by the time you are paying it multiple times a week it gets expensive, waving goodbye to your grocery budget. Highlighting why a hot pot is so versatile and useful for college students. You can use the broth for up to three times, it is full of protein and cost efficient.
You are able to load up their hotpot with cheap protein options and douse it in sauce for the perfect meal. From an outsider’s view this does not seem like the best option but as someone in college you have to do what you have to do to eat a good dinner. You can also use vegetables that are about to go bad to add some customization to the meal. This could also be a lifesaver for finals week. During finals week there are a lot of late nights so this could end up as a lifesaver.
This option obviously does not scream class but embrace meals that get you through college.
Personally, I would not do this but to some it might be a feasible option so I appreciate this piece.
