Two Free Poems
First poem
Listening to every word I have to say
As if it is poetry
The trails of an
endeavorment of meeting someone there
Is something I don’t want to do for you
As I was drowning you tied rocks to my legs
But now I’ve hiked to the peak
Second poem
We have 22 minutes before we have to leave
We all dread the 2 hours where our heads will be drowning in water at practice
Before we go we have something to check off our bucket list
Head leaned backward out the window
As the wind blows your blonde hair into knots
I felt as there was a director is behind my eyes
and I am the camera
We made sure that the timing was perfect. Low tide is at 11.
Walk down the getty as our feet get torn by the rough sand
The tall pile of rocks doesn’t seem to get closer but your heart rate rises.
Your psalms scrape the granite as you try and pull yourself up to the top
Your friends go before you
Leaving you to have no time to have fear
Weightless in the air
Soon to be swallowed by the sea
You will never be here in this moment again
