Reflection, Writing
One day one started out with a poem on the shorter side. It was bare bones and just the main concept of the poem I wanted to write. I was nervous about making this poem longer because I like to write poems that are straight to the point but I really enjoyed this process. It pushed me to think metaphorically on how I could write this a different way without saying it flat out. The second day of rewriting the poem I added a line for every line that I wrote. When writing this one I just wrote what came to mind and the next day I perfected those lines. I also added a different ending which completely changed the whole idea of the poem, which I liked. The next day I switched one of the metaphorical lines about ice. I loved this line way more than the previous days and if I wasn’t continuously updating my poem I would’ve never changed it. The final day I tweaked the small stuff and words and then I added more to the ending to change the idea of the poem completely. The poem now started out positive and ended with a negative twist leaving the readers thinking that the “heater” was a good thing.
