One of the pieces of work that I am most proud of is an article that I wrote about the Maine Mariners partnership with the university. After finishing this project I decided to have it published on The Bolt, which I am very proud of. I am also extremely proud of this interview because I interviewed 4 people for this article. I interviewed Conor Blake who is the manager of the Center for Sport and Business Innovation at UNE, Sam Murray, vice president of sales & strategy for The Maine Mariners, and two business students studying at UNE. This got me out of my comfort zone when doing assignments, working on my interviewing and communications skills while still using my resources. It is something that I use in my professional careers portfolio till this day. Another thing that I enjoyed about this assignment is that I could combine my major, communications (the story) with my minor in business (the topic of the story).

A piece of work that I would consider doing differently is my interview with the Biddeford Fire Department. At the beginning of the Fall semester last year I decided to do a story on how there is a new fire substation opening near UNE. With this interview I talked to the chief of fire and recorded our interview. I was new to interviewing on camera so I didn’t bring a tripod or a microphone, making me a little upset about the quality of video I got by the end of the interview.

Another one of the most memorable assignments that I have had within my Humanities major was in my Intercultural communication class. This has been memorable to me not because it was a particularly hard assignment but, learning about this work has had the most impact on my personal life. I would like to go back to this work because I still have so many curiosities about it and want to dig deeper. 

Looking back on all of my previous work I start to notice all of the corners I cut from the beginning. If I were to go back and just put 10 more minutes into some assignments they would be just that much better. If I did this sooner I also would have progressed academically faster.
